Our Programs
Victoria Acres’ programs provides hope and the opportunity to change lives one individual at a time…
- from the girl who desperately wants to do something her typical peers do, but is too afraid to try;
- to the young boy that has been bullied and beaten down and needs to grow his self-esteem in a safe place;
- to the adolescent child living with autism who benefits greatly from the challenge of working with horses and gains a sense of calm after visiting the barn;
- or to the individual who relies on a wheelchair to take them places who is put on the back of a horse to feel a different means of freedom and allow their muscles to experience the gait of the horse which is so similar to the human gait;
- and to so many more who we haven’t met yet!
Therapeutic Riding Classes
Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) International riding uses equine-assisted activities for the purpose of positively contributing to the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well-being of people with disabilities.

Horse Sense Curriculum
This program is run through grant or program funding.
Our Horse Sense curriculum teaches students all about horses from their noses to their tails. Students learn natural horsemanship skills, riding, care, and respect and responsibility for horses. Our farrier and veterinarians provide demonstrations and education on the importance of caring for a horse for their overall well-being. The equine-assisted learning model is built into the program, where the horses are utilized to build resilience, self-esteem, and confidence.
The Schenectady City School District is currently enrolled in this program to enrich the curriculum for their students with special needs.
Ground Work Lessons
Perfect for seasoned riders and novices, our ground work sessions provide the opportunity for individuals of all ages to learn horse basics.
